Today, we’ve decided to present you a warm beverage made of lemon water as well as turmeric and ginger. These 2 ingredients are abundant in detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s a recipe that improves your immunity, so it will help you against cough, fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, a cold, chronic pain, seasonal allergies, sore throat, and many different digestive problems.
The best thing you can do is to use fresh turmeric root if you can find it near to the place you live. If you can’t find it fresh, try to find it in powder form.
Lemon Ginger Turmeric Tea
- ½ a teaspoon of ginger powder or 1 teaspoon of fresh grated ginger root
- 2 teaspoons of raw honey (optional)
- ½ a teaspoon of turmeric powder or 1 teaspoon fresh grated turmeric root
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 1 and ½ cup of filtered water
- 2-3 twists of black pepper (black pepper increases the bio-availability of turmeric)
Take a saucepan and combine water, ginger and turmeric to cook on medium-high heat. Simmer this for 5 or 10 minutes, just be careful! It shouldn’t boil. Strain it. Pour it into your favorite mug. Add the honey along with the lemon juice in the end and stir everything well.
You should also be extra cautious when you grate turmeric root. It has a deep yellow color that may leave stains on your clothing and counter top.
